The rich and diverse India is booming with progression towards a self sustaining and interdependent nation community. In pockets all over India, communities and villages are creating more sustainable lifestyles for themselves. Several NGOs are providing the appropriate technologies and awareness to empower the common people. Sixty percent of the Indian population is directly involved with agriculture. Forty percent of the population is made up of farmers, with approximately two acres of land each, providing to the local markets.

Also, however there has been pressure put on the native farmers by big multinational companies to give up producing for the local people, and rather produce one certain crop for export. Many of the farmers are forced to loan money from these companies for such untraditional forms of mono-cropping and become indebted with their life. Presently, many families are discouraged to follow the family heritage of farming because of these troubles.

Our work is focused in helping, encouraging, and most importantly empowering the local Indian people to use sustainable methods and systems so that they are self dependent and not exploited. We are there to exchange knowledge and culture. Many of the native people use traditional methods that are sustainable and we provide the science and appropriate technology to help the progress of their work. It is beautiful to work and live side by side with resilient Indian people. One out of every four farmers in the world is Indian; supporting these farmers is ensuring our global food security!
